The new Porsche 911 GT3 debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. The most important news are the PDK dual-clutch gearbox and rear axle steering. The engine is a 3.8 six-cylinder boxer that delivers 475 hp at 8,250 rpm, combined with rear-wheel drive with limited slip differential. The engine, derived from the Carrera S, has undergone several changes, it can reach 9,000 rpm and it withstands the mechanical stresses of the high speeds. The seven-speed PDK has been revised to tough use. The four-wheel steering system increases the agility at low speeds and stability at high speeds. According to Porsche, the 911 GT3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, 0-200 km/h in less than 12 seconds, and it reaches 315 km/h of top speed. The time at the Nürburgring is under 7'30".

Il motore, derivato dalla Carrera S, ha subito diverse modifiche, che permettono di raggiungere i 9.000 giri e di sopportare al meglio gli stress meccanici degli alti regimi. Anche il Pdk a sette marce è stato rivisto per l'uso estremo. Il sistema a quattro ruote sterzanti aumenta l'agilità alle basse velocità e la stabilità alle alte velocità. Le prestazioni dichiarate annunciano un'accelerazione da 0 a 100 km/h in 3,5 secondi, 0-200 km/h in meno di 12 secondi, e 315 km/h di velocità massima. Il tempo al Nürburgring è sotto i 7'30".
