2013 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S
Porsche has unveiled the new Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S, which will debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Aesthetically, the changes do not upset the 911 style: air intakes on the rear fenders, adjustable spoiler, sports bumper with enlarged air intakes, flared fenders compared to the Carrera 4 and 20-inch alloy wheels help you to recognize the Turbo from other Carreras. The Turbo offers for the first time the rear wheel steering and Pdcc active anti-roll bars and the Ptm all-wheel drive system has been evolved. Under the hood beats the six-cylinder boxer engine 3.8 twin turbo direct injection with variable turbine geometry: the Turbo delivers 520 hp, while the Turbo S delivers 560 hp. The engine is mated exclusively to the PDK dual-clutch seven-speed trasmission. The Turbo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds with Sport Chrono Package and Turbo S does the same in 3.1 seconds, both are capable of reaching a top speed of 318 km/h. The Turbo S has completed a lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in less than 7 minutes and 30 seconds. The standard equipment of the Turbo S includes PDCC, Sport Chrono Package, active engine mounts, mono nut alloy wheels, sport seats with electric adjustment, full LED headlights and carbon-ceramic brakes.

Porsche 997 GT3 spotted (photos)
In the pictures you can see a Porsche 997 GT3, which I caught at the Modena racetrack. This is one of the many versions of the 911 range, but it certainly is one of the most striking: it shows off the bigger rear wing, the GT3 stripes on the sides, the central exhausts and special alloy wheels. The most interesting features, however, are under the skin. The engine is the 6-cylinder boxer with displacement increased to 3.8 liters, located right at the rear to lower the center of gravity and increase traction. In this configuration, the engine produces 435 hp at 7,600 rpm and 430 Nm at 6,250 rpm and supports a maximum speed of 8,500 rpm. The six-speed manual gearbox is mated to the limited slip differential. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is in 4.1 seconds, the 0-200 km/h in 12.3 seconds and the top speed is 312 km/h. To reduce weight, doors and bonnet are made of aluminum, while the rear engine cover is made of plastic: the GT3 weights 1395 kg with a weight/power ratio of 3.2 kg/hp. This car driven by Walter Rohrl sets 7 minutes and 40 seconds on the Nurburgring.

Lexus LFA
The LFA is powered by a 4.8 liter V10 that produces 560 hp at 8,700 rpm and 480 Nm at 6,800 rpm. The production started in 2010 included only 500 copies. Most of the production is artisanal, and this explains in part the high price of around 375,000 euros. The LFA weighs only 1,480 kg, on the body for 65% carbon. Performance: 0-100 km/h in 3.7 s and top speed of 325 km/h. Then they released a special version, the LFA Nurburgring Edition, only 50 pieces with several improvements: 10 more hp, shift times reduced, new exhaust system, aerodynamic and ground clearance reduced by 10 mm.
