Bmw Isetta Whatta Drag

In 1998, Hot Wheels launched a special series of models including a Isetta in dragster version, called the Whatta Drag. Bruce Weiner, a collector of microcars, wanted to realize one in life-size, the same as in a few days will be auctioned by RM Auction. Bmw Isetta Whatta Drag was born in 2005. To build it, Weiner has taken the carcass of a 1959 BMW Isetta, to which he added a more robust chassis, suspension of M3, Chevrolet big block V8 engine with 730 hp, compressor BDS, a pair of carburetors from Holley 750 CFM and a Zoomies exhaust. The BMW Isetta Whatta Drag has always remained in Madison, Georgia, confined within the walls of the Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum, and now awaits a handover. Together with other famous pieces of the museum, on February 16 will be sold to the highest bidder. The price is estimated between 75,000 and 100,000 dollars.

Per costruirla, Weiner ha preso la carcassa di una Bmw Isetta del '59, a cui ha aggiunto un telaio più robusto, le sospensioni di una M3, un motore V8 Chevrolet big block da 730 cavalli, compressore BDS, una coppia di carburatori Holley da 750 CFM e uno scarico Zoomies a quattro uscite. La Bmw Isetta Whatta Drag è sempre rimasta a Madison, in Georgia, confinata fra le mura del Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum, ed ora attende un passaggio di consegne. Insieme ad altre perle del museo, infatti, il 16 febbraio prossimo sarà ceduta al migliore offerente. Il prezzo si stima tra i 75.000 ed i 100.000 dollari.
