The new McLaren MP4-12C Spider is the UK's answer to the Ferrari 458 Spider. The car is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 with 625 hp and 600 Nm of torque between 3,000 and 7,000 rpm, combined to a seven-speed dual-clutch. The English Spider accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and covers the 0-200 km/h in 9 seconds. The maximum speed is 329 km/h. The frame and the folding roof made of carbon fiber allow to maintain proper stiffness and reduce weight. The starting price for the UK is £ 195,500.

L'auto è spinta da un V8 biturbo da 3.8 litri con 625 cavalli di potenza e 600 Nm di coppia tra i 3.000 ed i 7.000 giri, abbinato al cambio doppia frizione a sette marce. La Spider inglese accelera da 0 a 100 km/h in 3.1 secondi e copre lo 0-200 km/h in 9 secondi. La velocità massima è di 329 km/h. Il telaio e il tetto ripiegabile in fibra di carbonio consentono di mantenere la giusta rigidità e di contenere il peso. Il prezzo di partenza fissato per il Regno Unito è di poco meno di 250mila euro.
