ATS 300 LEGGERA

ATS presented the all new ATS SPORT 1000 in 2012 and the retro style supercar ATS 2500 GT in 2013, now ATS is ready to launch on the market a new series of superlight cars on a new chassis platform with front mid-engine layout and rear wheel drive. The new ATS spider is named 300 LEGGERA and rappresent an “homage” at typical italian small sportscars of fifties and sixties that had great success in US with name of “Etceterini cars”: 2 seaters sportscars with nice body design, superlight configurations and capable of great performances in US and European competitions both on roads and tracks. ATS offers with the new 300 LEGGERA the chance to own a performance car with classic design , fun and pure to drive without any electronic devices and easy to service and maintain. The 300 denomination is relative at the power to weight ratio of the new ATS spider: the 300 LEGGERA has a 1600cc turbocharged engine with 200bhp on 650 kg curb weight without any help from electronic systems like EBD or traction control. Fun is guaranteed! Every single car will be built on customer specifications from 30.000 euros and will be ready in 2014 for European and American markets.

2014 BMW X5 xDrive 30d

Last night I went to the dealer presentation of the new BMW X5. Here you can see the photos of the X5 xDrive 30d, one of the engines available at launch together with the 5.0 V8 petrol xDrive 50i 450 hp and the 3.0 turbodiesel 381 hp and 740 Nm of the M50d xDrive. The engine of the 30d is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with TwinPower Turbo technology, which delivers 258 hp at 4,000 rpm and 560 Nm from 1,500 to 3,000 rpm. The X5 xDrive 3.0d accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and it reaches a top speed of 230 km/h. The 2014 Bmw X5 comes standard with the 8-speed automatic transmission with Launch Control function. Initially the car will be available in a single trim with three levels of customization: Business, Experience and Luxury. On all of these, 18-inch alloy wheels, electric tailgate, cruise control, touch screen 6.5-inch iDrive system, Bluetooth connectivity, audio system with USB input, leather sport steering wheel and Stat&Stop system are standard. At a later time other engines will debut: the 306 hp xDrive35i , the 313 hp xDrive40d and xDrive and sDrive 25d equipped with 218 hp 4-cylinder diesel engine.

BMW 4-Series Coupe: 420d M Sport

I posted the pictures I took at the presentation of last Sunday of the new BMW 4 Series Coupe. The model you see is the pictures is the 420d MSport, which compared to other 420d is recognizable by some aesthetic details. The Bavarian four-seater weighs 1525 kg and it is powered by the 2.0-liter diesel engine with 184 hp and 380 Nm at 1,750 rpm. The traction is rear-wheel drive, while the transmission is via a six-speed manual transmission (optional the eight-speed automatic). The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is in 7.5 seconds (7.3 with the automatic), while the maximum speed is 240 km/h.

Ferrari California 30 in Maranello

As I promised, I will upload other photos of that Sunday afternoon in Maranello, the hometown of Ferrari. Here you can see a Giallo Modena Ferrari California 30 with 20-inch Sport wheels and Cioccolato interior. The California 30 is an evolution of the traditional California, and 30 symbolizes -30 kg and +30 hp. The 4.3-liter V8 engine produces now 490 hp and 505 Nm at 5000 rpm, thanks to new exhaust manifolds and a new engine software. The chassis is made of aluminium and light alloys to reduce the weight of the car. The performance are improved: the acceleration 0-100 km/h occurs in 3.8 seconds and top speed is 312 km/h, but it has the same character of the first California. 

2013 Maserati Ghibli

Below you can see the photos of the new Maserati Ghibli. This example was exhibited at the "Fiera Millenaria" of Gonzaga. The Maserati Ghibli is realized on the frame of the Quattroporte, but the floorpan has been shortened. The Ghibli is the first Maserati in the history that features a diesel engine, a 3.0 V6 derived in two power levels: 250 and 275 hp for 600 Nm of torque. The petrol engines are two 3.0-liter V6 twin turbo: the first has 330 hp and 500 Nm and the S has 410 hp and 550 Nm. All engines are mated to a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, combined with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (only on the Ghibli S Q4 410 hp). The Ghibli V6 Diesel S accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and it reaches 250 km/h, while the V6 S Q4 reaches 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds to touch the maximum speed of 285 km/h.

2013 Renault Clio Cup

Renault has unveiled the first images of the Clio Cup, the racing version of the Clio RS. The new Cup will have a new body kit that includes front bumper, rear spoiler, air intake on the roof and the rear extractor. The package is completed by 17-inch Speedline wheels. Under the hood there will be the 1.6-liter turbo with 220 hp and 270 Nm, mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox.

2014 Bentley Continental GT3

The Bentley Continental GT3 has been revealed during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The aesthetics of the Bentley Continental GT3 doesn't change much compared to the concept presented in Paris. Engineers have worked to reduce the car's weight: they have been able to remove 2,200 kg compared to road car. The racing Bentley features adjustable dampers, Brembo brakes, as well as the aerodynamic kit. The Bentley Coniental GT3 is fitted with a 4.0 liter V8 engine with 600 hp, mounted in retracted position to improve weight distribution. The power is sent to the rear wheels through a drive shaft made ​​of carbon fiber, the transmission is via a six-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox with limited slip differential.

McLaren 12C GT Sprint

The McLaren introduce the 12C GT Sprint at the Goodwood Festival of Speed​​. The GT Sprint, available only in the color Heritage McLaren Orange, will be built in 20 examples for only track use. The 12C GT Sprint uses the same carbon fiber monocoque of the road-legal 12C, but it uses PCC suspension and Brake Steer with specific calibrations. The engine 3.8-liter V8 twin turbo 625 hp has been optimized to provide better cooling. The GT Sprint retains the seven-speed double-clutch gearbox of the 12C, it also has three settings for the calibration of suspension, roll and ESP. The aerodynamics has been updated and the structure has been lower by 40 mm compared to the road-legal 12C. The 12C Sprint features carbon-ceramic brakes and Pirelli slick tires on 19-inch OZ rims.

Jaguar F-Type Project 7 Speedster Design Concept

Ahead of the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013, Jaguar has released the first images and details about the Jaguar F-Type Project 7 Speedster. The Project 7 is a one-off created from the new F-Type roadster, inspired by the classic racing cars of the past, like the glorious D-Type. The body is completely made of aluminum with aerodynamic components made ​​of carbon. The fabric roof has been removed to make space for the roll bar and decrease the mass of the car. Inside, the passenger seat has been removed, while the pilot's seat is placed 30 mm lower than the road car. The 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine is the same as the XKR-S GT, it delivers 550 hp and enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.

Caterham Seven 620 R

At the Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​the Caterham Seven 620 R will make its debut. It is the new model at the top of the range, the successor of the Superlight R500. The 620 R features the 2.0-liter Ford Duratec with supercharger that delivers 310 hp and 296 Nm. The Caterham accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds and it reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. The engine is mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox and limited slip differential. The car features 13-inch wheels and new sospension. The simply interior have a racing look thanks to carbon fiber finishes.

2013 Range Rover by Mansory

Mansory has presented an aerodynamic package for the new 2013 Range Rover. The British suv comes with a new front carbon fiber bonnet, a large rear spoiler, rear diffuser, in addition to front and rear bumpers and side skirts. The body kit is completed by 22-inch wheels and lowered suspension. For the interior numerous bespoke options are available and in various colors, you can choose materials such as leather, wood and carbon. For now Mansory has presented a tuning package for the 4.4-liter V8 diesel engine capable of adding 70 hp through a sports air filter and a remapped ECU, but he is working on an engine with 650 hp and 800 Nm of torque.

Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG Edition 1

Mercedes-Benz has decided to repeat the operation performed with the A 45 AMG Edition 1 on the CLA 45 AMG. The Edition 1 is a special series offered during the launch phase that offers a sportier look than the standard AMG: it comes with new rear spoiler finished in gloss black, side stickers, red detailing on the front grille and matte black 19-inch wheels. The interior features sports seats and Artico leather and Dinamica tissue upholstery, steering wheel in nappa leather and microfiber and Artico leather upholstery on the door panels and instrument panel. There are six paints available: Cirrus White, Night Black, Cosmos Black metallic, Mountain Grey Metallic, Polar Silver metallic and Designo Polar Siver magno. The CLA 45 AMG features the four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo engine with 360 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to seven-speed dual-clutch AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT gearbox and the AMG 4Matic all-wheel drive trasmission. The CLA 45 AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and it reaches a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).

2013 SRT Viper on ADV.1 Wheels

The team of Wheels Boutique has fitted a set of ADV.1 Wheels to a new red SRT Viper. WB ADV6  wheels have been created specifically for this Viper, and measure 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear.

Red Night - Notte Rossa Maranello 2013

Saturday 22nd June 2013 the second edition of the Red Night of Maranello took place, and here you can see some photos I took. The Red Night is a sleepless night to celebrate the Ferrari in his hometown. This year, thousands of people flooded the streets of the center, where there were concerts, shows, animations, activities related to engines and exhibition of Ferraris. In addition to engines, you could taste typical products and doing charity work.

2013 Range Rover CLR-R by Lumma Design

Lumma has unveiled the first images of the 2013 Range Rover CLR-R. The CLR-R kit comes with a new front bumper, redesigned front grille and air intakes on the hood. On the sides, Lumma has fitted side skirts and flared fenders, while at the rear there is a carbon fiber diffuser, a new bumper and a roof spoiler. The package includes also CLR 22 Mono 22-inch wheels and 40-mm lowered suspension. The V8 5.0-liter Supercharged engine delivers 540 hp instead of the standard 510.

ATS Sport 1000

The ATS, Automobili Turismo Sport, is a small Italian car manifacturer and it has recently presented the ATS Sport 1000, a road-legal racing car. The chassis made of stainless steel and aluminium combined with fiberglass body with kevlar inserts provide a total weight of less than 500 kg. The ATS Sport 1000 features the engine of the Kawasaki Ninja 1000, which produces 200 hp, coupled to rear-wheel drive with limited slip differential. The car is fully handmade and it can be customized according to customer requirements.

Audi Quattro Coupé

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Audi Sport Quattro, the House of  Ingolstadt will present at the Frankfurt Motor Show the heir to the German sport car of the 80s: the Audi Quattro Coupe. The car will be made ​​of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber reinforced with special plastic (CFRP), aluminum and magnesium, that will contain the total mass within 1.300 kg. Under the bonnet of the Quattro Coupe, we will find a 4.0-liter V8 twin turbo with 650 hp and 480 Nm of torque. Traction is Quattro four-wheel drive, managed by a sporty rear differential. The Audi Quattro is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds while the top speed should exceed 300 km/h.

Ferrari F40 with Tubi Style exhaust (video)

I filmed this Ferrari F40 during the Night of Engines at the Modena racetrack. This car is fitted with Tubi Style Exhaust straight pipes. Listen to the amazing sound, the start up, backfire fly by and acceleration.

Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale and 6C 34 at Modena Terra di Motori 2013

I photographed this Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale and this Maserati 6C 34 in Modena, during the event Modena Terra di Motori 2013. The 2013 GranTurismo MC Stradale has four seats, new carbon fiber bonnet with air intakes, new 20-inch wheels and redesigned rear bumper. The engine is the 4.7-liter V8 with 460 hp and 520 Nm. Instead, the Maserati 6C 34 was built from 1934 to 1935, it features a six-cylinder in line engine 3.7-liter with 270 hp and it reaches a top speed of 250 km/h!
