BMW Z4 GT3 Time Attack - Track action, pure V8 sound & Marco Iacoangeli on board

2014 Bentley Continental GT3

The Bentley Continental GT3 has been revealed during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The aesthetics of the Bentley Continental GT3 doesn't change much compared to the concept presented in Paris. Engineers have worked to reduce the car's weight: they have been able to remove 2,200 kg compared to road car. The racing Bentley features adjustable dampers, Brembo brakes, as well as the aerodynamic kit. The Bentley Coniental GT3 is fitted with a 4.0 liter V8 engine with 600 hp, mounted in retracted position to improve weight distribution. The power is sent to the rear wheels through a drive shaft made ​​of carbon fiber, the transmission is via a six-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox with limited slip differential.

SRT Viper GT3-R

SRT has unveiled the Viper GT3-R, created for customers who want to compete in GT3 races. The car is developed by SRT Motorsports in collaboration with Riley Technologies. The V10 8.4-liter engine delivers 680 hp and 868 Nm of torque, controlled by a six-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox. The weight was reduced to 1,295 kg and the carbon fiber body is fitted with an aerodynamic kit. The car complies with FIA GT3.

2013 Porsche 911 GT3 R

Porsche has unveiled details of the new 911 GT3 R, the racing version of the 991 based on the 997. The 2013 GT3 R stands out with a new aerodynamic package designed to increase downforce, to provide greater traction and support on fast. The new model introduces new bumpers, new air intakes, flared fenders, rear wing, diffuser and underbody. Also the suspension were modified, the distances have been widened and new wheels allow to mount tires with a larger footprint. The engine of the new Porsche 911 GT3 R has remained unchanged: it is the 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine, which develops 500 hp. The engine is mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission with steering wheel paddles.

2013 Porsche 911 991 GT3

The new Porsche 911 GT3 debuted at the Geneva Motor Show. The most important news are the PDK dual-clutch gearbox and rear axle steering. The engine is a 3.8 six-cylinder boxer that delivers 475 hp at 8,250 rpm, combined with rear-wheel drive with limited slip differential. The engine, derived from the Carrera S, has undergone several changes, it can reach 9,000 rpm and it withstands the mechanical stresses of the high speeds. The seven-speed PDK has been revised to tough use. The four-wheel steering system increases the agility at low speeds and stability at high speeds. According to Porsche, the 911 GT3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, 0-200 km/h in less than 12 seconds, and it reaches 315 km/h of top speed. The time at the Nürburgring is under 7'30".

Aston Martin Vantage SP10

At the Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin will unveil the Vantage SP10, a version inspired by the racing variant that compete in the FIA ​​GT4. This special edition is available both coupé and convertible, called Volante. The SP10 can be recognized for the special Ceramic Grey Metallic livery, combined with the Titan Grey roof in the convertible version. It also features new 19-inch black and diamon-finished alloy wheels, black brake calipers and new aerodynamic details made ​​of carbon fiber as the front splitter and rear air diffuser. Inside the car, the Piano Black tint is taken up for center console, while leather and Alcantara coatings have contrast stitching. Under the hood of SP10 there is the 4.7-liter V8 of the V8 Vantage S, capable of 436 hp and 490 Nm of torque. The British supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, while the maximum speed reaches 305 km/h. The engine can be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or the new sequential  Sportshift II gearbox. The Aston Martin Vantage SP10 can be already ordered.

Porsche 997 GT3 spotted (photos)

In the pictures you can see a Porsche 997 GT3, which I caught at the Modena racetrack. This is one of the many versions of the 911 range, but it certainly is one of the most striking: it shows off the bigger rear wing, the GT3 stripes on the sides, the central exhausts and special alloy wheels. The most interesting features, however, are under the skin. The engine is the 6-cylinder boxer with displacement increased to 3.8 liters, located right at the rear to lower the center of gravity and increase traction. In this configuration, the engine produces 435 hp at 7,600 rpm and 430 Nm at 6,250 rpm and supports a maximum speed of 8,500 rpm. The six-speed manual gearbox is mated to the limited slip differential. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is in 4.1 seconds, the 0-200 km/h in 12.3 seconds and the top speed is 312 km/h. To reduce weight, doors and bonnet are made of aluminum, while the rear engine cover is made of plastic: the GT3 weights 1395 kg with a weight/power ratio of 3.2 kg/hp. This car driven by Walter Rohrl sets 7 minutes and 40 seconds on the Nurburgring.

Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 and 458 Italia GT3 (photos)

In the pictures you can see the Ferrari 458 GT2 Le Mans winner with 2012 livery and the 458 GT3 Blancpain Series Pro Am Championship winner, shown at the 2013 Motorsport Expotech in Modena. Technical data:

2013 McLaren MP4-12C GT3 Spec

McLaren had made last year 25 examples of the MP4-12C approved for the FIA GT3 championships, named MP4-12C GT3 Specs. These examples have been sold to thirteen different teams, wich together have received 38 medals in 98 races in 2012. Thanks to the excellent results, McLaren has decided to make a second upgrade for the supercar: it will include a new aerodynamic kit, new suspension and new management of the electronic control unit. This update can be installed on twenty-five GT3 Spec already produced and it will be also built into the cars of new production: fifteen copies have already been ordered, but the numbers are likely to increase because the sale is open to individuals. Among the customers, there will be nine-time world rally champion Sebastian Loeb, which this year will compete in GT3 with the McLaren. The car costs 400,000 euro and can only be used on the track. 

2013 Ferrari 458 GT3

Scuderia Ferrari is working on updates to the 458 GT3 ahead of the FIA GT3 Championship 2013. The car is based on the 458 Italia, and it was photographed during some tests on the Adria trackrace. The news should focus on the aerodynamic performance and the car body, also there will be updates to the sequential gearbox and suspension. We don't know anything about changes related to the engine, which is the 4.5-liter V8 capable of delivering 550 hp at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm of torque, the same unit that equips the Ferrari 458 Italia with 562 hp.

2013 Porsche 911 991 GT3 Cup

Porsche has unveiled the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, a race car that anticipates the next 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 RS. The racing version features a 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer naturally aspired capable of 460 horsepower. The gearbox is a sequential six-speed transmission with shift paddles on the steering wheel, mated to the rear-wheel drive. The new GT3 will be easier to drive thanks to better weight balance, it will allow greater performance and improved handling. The brakes and tires have been upgraded, as the roll bar and bucket seats. Continue reading to see pictures and video. 

Porsche 997 GT3 CUP on the track (photos + video)

The new version of the 911 GT3 CUP MY 2010-2012 is based on the 911 GT3 RS, but is more powerful, larger and faster than it. The weight of this racing model is reduced compared to the road version, it weighs only 1195 kg. The engine is the 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer engine naturally aspirated with 450 hp, mated to a sequential six-speed manual gearbox. In the video below you can see a 997 of the Krypton MotorSport  on the Modena racetrack, in the fastest lap stopped the clock at 1'08 ". See other pictures below.

2013 Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3

The 2013 GT-R Nismo GT3 is a car designed specifically for the track. Developed by Nismo, which stands for Nissan Motorsports, GT-R Nismo is prepared according to the specifications FIA GT3: aero kit in carbon fiber, new braking system, interior redesigned in racing style, plexiglass windows, new suspension and optimization of the engine. The twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 delivers 550 hp and 650 Nm of torque and is mated to a four-wheel drive and 6-speed sequential gearbox. Thanks to the use of carbon in the cockpit, the elimination of acoustic panels and replacement of the windows with plexiglass elements, the weight is contained at 1300 kg.

Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series

Inspired by the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3, Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series is the high-performance version of the Mercedes SLS AMG. The 6.2-liter V8 has been upgraded to deliver 631 hp (60 more than the stock) and 635 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to the AMG Speedshift DCT dual-clutch seven-speed. The Black Series accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, touching a maximum speed of 315 km/h. The new SLS AMG Black Series has many carbon details which allowed to lower the weight to 1,550 kg (70 kg less than the standard SLS) and, thanks to changes to the engine, the Black Series has a weight/power ratio of 2.45 kg/hp. The Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series stands for changes to the trim and the chassis: Performance AMG Ride Control suspensions are more rigid and allow adjustment at different stages. The Balck Series comes standard with carbon-ceramic brakes, sporty tires, lightweight alloy wheels and rear locking differential.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled at Sao Paulo Motor Show a special limited edition: the SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary. The 45th Anniversary will be produced in only five numbered copies, with the participation of Bernd Schneider, DTM champion. This SLS is recognized by the matt color Graphite Designo Magno, logos "45 Years of Driving Performance" and AMG light-alloy wheels that recall the color of the car. The racing interior have dashboard and console in carbon fiber finish. The engine is the same as the standard version: the AMG 6.2 liter V8. The price in Germany will be € 446,250. Porsche 911 997 GT3 GTurbo by 9ff

The German tuner 9ff unveiled the Porsche 911 997 GT3 called 9ff GTurbo. The 6-cylinder boxer 3.8 was modified and brought in a displacement of 3.9 liters, now equipped with a turbine and capable of developing 1,200 hp and a maximum torque of 1,150 Nm. To manage the boost 9ff has installed a dedicated control unit that allows you to select 3 different power levels. In the most extreme setup, the 9ff GTurbo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 403 km/h. The manual gearbox has been reinforced. See all the pictures below.
