500 Abarth vs Fiat Punto GT drag race - Crazy antilag & turbo sound

Some years ago I filmed a 500 Abarth and a Fiat Punto GT at the Fossoli Airport, near Carpi, during the event Italian Championship Accelerazione Aci Sport, organised by Sadurano Motor Sport. 

In the video you can see the launch 0 - 400 m (1/4 mile) during the drag race: warm up of the engine, smoking tires and wheelspind, and the full throttle acceleration on the straight. Listen to the pure and loud sound, amazing the whistle of the turbo and the bad noise of the antilag, and watch the cars in action during the battle.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to find the power of the engine and the work of tuning done.

Alcuni anni fa ho filmato una 500 Abarth a una Fiat Punto GT all'Aeroporto di Fossoli di Carpi (MO) durante l'evento Campionato Italiano Accelerazione Aci Sport 1 Tappa 27-28 Maggio 2017, organizzato da Sadurano Motor Sport.

Nel video potete vedere i lanci 0 - 400 m (1/4 di miglio) durante la gara: warm up del motore, gomme fumanti, sgommate e accelerazioni a tutto gas. Ascoltate il sound dei motori turbo e guardate le auto sul rettilineo che si danno battaglia!

Sfortunatamente non mi è stato possibile recuperare i dati delle potenze e le descrizioni delle modifiche fatte dai rispettivi preparatori.

FIAT Panda 100HP track weapon: engine swap 1.4 T-Jet 250 cv - On board & race

I filmed this Fiat Panda 100hp at the Best Lap of Pomposa Circuit racetrack.

I filmed Sara Manfredini racing his Fiat Uno Turbo at the Montefiorino hillclimb race.

The car is a Berlina Corsa version. Not many were made in the sixties because the OT was 85 kg heavier compared to the 1000 TC. This car was driven a long time in the FHR long distance races in Germany and has seen the Nurburgring Nordschleife more than 100 laps and has a lot of wins in its class.
It has a 982 cc engine in racing specs: 94 hp @ 8000 rpm, 4-speed hillclimb gearbox; weight 670 kg.

L'auto è una versione Berlina Corsa. Non ne costruirono tante poichè la OT era più pesante di 85 kg della 1000 TC. Quest'auto è stata guidata a lungo in gare di durata FHR in Germania e ha totalizzato più di 100 giri al  Nurburgring Nordschleife vincendo diverse volte nella sua classe.
Il motore è un 982 cc con specifiche da corsa: 94 cv a 8000 giri, cambio da cronoscalata 4 marce, peso 670 kg.

Motorcycle engine Kawasaki ZZR14 modified to 1.500cc, it develops about 230hp for a weight of only 580 Kg! Head of the engine, pistons and every component has been worked and changed to bear the power, we also find sequential gearbox, harnesses and racing electronics, 9 inches front and rear tires. The entire car is a homemade project by Vincenzo Veldorale's CPO workshop located in Trana near Turin.

Motore da moto: Kawasaki ZZR14 portato a 1.500cc ed ora sviluppa circa 230cv per un peso di soli 580 Kg! Testa del motore, pistoni ed ogni componente è stato lavorato e cambiato per sopportare la potenza, troviamo inoltre cambio sequenziale, cablaggi ed elettroniche da corsa, ruote all'anteriore da 9 pollici per 13 di diametro ed al posteriore 11 pollici, sempre da 13 di diametro. L'intera vettura è stata costruita in casa dall'officina CPO di Vincenzo Veldorale situata a Trana in provincia di Torino.

Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari

At the "Fiera Millenaria" of Gonzaga, near Mantova, I photographed this Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari. It is a limited edition of 1,696 examples of the 500 Abarth, of which only 99 in Blu Abu Dhabi color with Grigio Corsa details. Compared to the 500 Abarth, the 695 has the same 1.4 T-Jet engine lifted to 180 hp and 250 Nm and mated to the electro-mechanical Abarth Competizione gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel. The Tributo Ferrari accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds and it reaches a top speed of 225 km/h. The sound is committed to the Record Monza exhaust with four tailpipes, 17-inch alloy wheels hide increased Brembo brakes, while the stiffened suspension features Koni components. The interior is characterized by Abarth Corsa sport seats by Sabelt in gray leather with carbon shell, the racing pedals and the plate with the vehicle series number.

Fiat 500 V12 by OEMMEDI Meccanica

In the video and in the pictures you can see a modified FIAT 500. This car features the V12 6.2-liter with 580 hp of the Lamborghini Murcielago. The car is handmade by Oemmedi Meccanica, a specialized workshop in Acquapendente (VT), Italy. Watch the video and listen to the pure sound!

500 Abarth Monza by Romeo Ferraris (photos)

In the pictures you can see a 500 Abarth Monza that I spotted at the Raduno dei Raduni organized by Quattroruote. The 500 Abarth Monza is a preparation by Romeo Ferraris derived from 500 Abarth. The Monza is produced in only 10 examples, to commemorate 50 years of Romeo Ferraris. The 1.4-liter turbo engine now delivers 260 hp, compared to the original 135 hp, thanks to a new turbo, sports exhaust, air filter and ECU. The power is discharged to the ground by a new sequential 6-speed gearbox mated to a mechanical limited slip differential. The 500 Abarth Monza features Brembo brakes upgraded and adjustable racing suspension. Aesthetically, it is equipped with a new aerodynamic kit and 17-inch alloy wheels. The white paint with red and blue stripes takes the color of Monza racetrack. Even the interior are in the same color combinations, quality is guaranteed by leather and Alcantara. All copies are numbered and they report on a plate the owner's name.

Cinquone Stradale by Romeo Ferraris (photos)

What you see in the picture is an elaboration of Romeo Ferraris based on the 500 Abarth: this is the Cinquone Stradale. This model comes from the racing Cinquone, but is approved for street use. The engine is the 1.4-liter T-Jet, heavily processed, capable of delivering 300 hp. The car is characterized by strengthened and increased axle shaft, Brembo calipers, new blow-off valve, turbo increased, cylinder head machined, forged pistons, intercooler increased, new cylinder head gaskets, special camshafts, new exhaust manifolds , down-pipe with 200 cells catalyst and mapping of the ECU. The adjustable structure boasts Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks, while the car rests on 18-inch Romeo Ferraris alloy wheels. The Cinquone Stradale is approved for only two passengers, it is equipped with a roll bar, a fire extinguisher, Recaro bucket seats with four-point seatbelts and Alcantara and carbon finishes. The weight of Cinquone is about one thousand kilograms, so performance of a sport car is assured.
