"Ferrari Supercars" and "Ferraris from another world" exhibition: photos

I have been to the Ferrari museum and here you can find some pictures I took. The exhibition “Ferrari Supercar. Technology. Design. Myth” retraces the story of all of the limited edition special series models built by Ferrari, starting with the 250 GTO, including an example of the 1964 version, and continuing with the 1984 GTO, the 288 GTO, the F40, the F50 and the Enzo, all the way up to the new model which has been named the LaFerrari. Aside from these, you can also see the related competition models like the FXX, the 599XX, the 1986 GTO Evoluzione and many others. Moreover, for the first time ever, the Ferrari test mules, transformed and camouflaged vehicles that are used to develop new models and are normally scrapped once they have served their purpose, have been put on display.

The Ferrari SA Aperta is the convertible version of the 599, produced in limited edition of 80 copies, to celebrate 80 years of Pininfarina in tribute to the designer Sergio and Andrea. The engine is the same as the 599 GTO: 6.0 V12 670 hp and 620 Nm of torque. The SA in the pictures is exposed at the Galleria Ferrari for "The great Ferraris of Sergio Pininfarina" exibition.

The great Ferraris of Sergio Pininfarina Exibition (photos)

The Ferrari Museum in Maranello inaugurated the Great Ferraris of Sergio Pininfarina exhibition which focuses on the years during which Sergio, the son of founder Battista “Pinin” Farina, made a pivotal contribution to the creation of the Prancing Horse’s most famous models. A collaboration that started in 1952 and which represents one of the great icons of the Made in Italy phenomenon. The exhibition, which runs until January 7th, comprises 22 models, including one-offs: the extraordinary Pinin, Ferrari’s only experimentation with a four-door car, the 330 GTC Speciale once owned by Princess of Belgium, the 250 LM, Ferrari’s last overall winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the 500 Mondial and 250 MM berlinettas, the classic 375 MM racer, the spectacular BB Le Mans, the short wheelbase 250 GT Berlinetta in which Stirling Moss won the Tourist Trophy, and the Sigma Formula 1 prototype from 1969. The 11 road cars in the exhibition are divided between the front-engined berlinettas, such as the 1964 275 GTB4 and the Spider version of the legendary Daytona, the mid-rear-engined models, notably the milestone BB, and the contemporary creative evolution which encompasses, amongst others, the Testarossa and the 599 SA Aperta, the latter a homage by Ferrari to Sergio and Andrea Pininfarina.

The German tuner Wheelsandmore has decided to pay homage to the GTO dedicating a special kit. A remapping of the ECU and the new stainless steel handmade exhaust brought the power of the V12 6.0 aspirated to 715 horsepower and 665 Nm of torque. Also noteworthy are the external changes.

Ferrari 599 GTO (photos)

Here some photos taken by me of two Ferrari 599 GTO.
The 599 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologata), produced in 599 copies, is the most powerful road car ever produced by Ferrari in its history, with a lap at Fiorano in 1 minute and 24 seconds. The 5,999 cm3 V12 engine produces 670 hp at 8,250 rpm (only 30 hp less than the 599 XX) with a maximum torque of 620 Nm at 6,500 rpm, features which push 1,495 kg of mass, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.35 seconds and a top speed of over 335 km/h. The ratio weight power reaches a value of 2.23 kg/hp. Braking from 100 to 0 km/h amounted to a value of 32.5 meters, thanks to carbon-ceramic brakes.

Ferrari 250 GTO: the most expensive car in the world!

Here some photos of the Ferrari 250 GTO. The car was produced from 1962 to 1964 in 39 pieces, but now there are only 36 pieces in the world. The price is still growing, in February 2012 a 1963 250 GTO was sold for 32 million dollars!
