Seeding cereal | Landini 4-105 + Maschio Gaspardo Pinta & 5-115H + MaterMacc MSD 500

I filmed two tractors and seed drill machines for cereal working. In the video you can see a Landini 4-105 with Maschio Gaspardo Pinta pneumatic seed drill and a Landini 5-115H with MaterMacc MSD 500 pneumatic seed drill in action. They are seeding wheat on a semi-worked field.

Ho filmato due trattori con relative seminatrici per cereali al lavoro sul campo. 1932 Landini 40 HP testa calda a vasca - Hot bulb start up & plowing | Accensione e aratura

I filmed this old and rare Landini 40 HP hot bulb tractor with cooling tank. In the video you can see the tractor in action: start up operation of the engine, then on the field for the historic plowing of Baura (FE). 

The start-up consist of heating the spherical cap on the head of the single-cylinder two-stroke engine, then move the external flywheel to permit the compression inside the cylinder and the activation of the combustion. The speciality of this model is the cooling tank, it works by the evaporation of the water in contact with the cylinder. When the engine cap is too hot, a valve takes a part of the water and mix with air and diesel oil to cool down the cap.

Ho filmato questo rarissimo Landini 40 HP del 1932 testa calda a vasca di raffreddamento. Nel video potete vedere il trattore in azione: accensione del motore, poi l'aratura d'epoca di gruppo di Baura (FE), evento organizzato dal Gruppo Trattoristi Ferraresi. 

L'accensione del motore monocilindrico due tempi consiste nello scaldare la calotta metallica, la spinta sui volani permette la compressione del pistone e l'innesco della combustione. La particolarità di questo modello era la vasca di raffreddamento, cioè per evaporazione dell'acqua contenuta in un serbatoio a contatto con il cilindro del motore. Inoltre, quando la calotta è troppo calda, una valvola preleva una parte di acqua e la miscela con aria e gasolio, in modo da raffreddare la calotta e ripristinare la potenza per un’accensione con i tempi e la temperatura corretti.

You can see the starting up operation and the warming up of the engine, the plowing, the smoke from exhaust, some difficult operation due to the wet ground.

I filmed some old miniature tractors in action at the 42nd Tractor meeting of Cavezzo (MO).

Landini sputa fiammate poi fonde - Landini spitting flames then breaks the engine

In the video you can see a Landini L55-60 during a night plowing in Casalgrande. The tractor starts to spit flames, you can see the engine head and the exhaust pipe incandescent, then the engine melts. At the end they succeed to restart the engine, after putting water into the radiator! Video and images below

Landini aratura in notturna - Landini plowing by night

I filmed this group plowing in Casalgrande near Reggio Emilia. In the video you can see some antique Landinis making some show. Among the tractors you can find a SuperLandini SL/8, L45-50 and L55-60. It was very hard to plow the ground, so some Landinis do wheelies, spit flames and make some revs. Listen to the characteristic engine sound of these piece of Italian history known as Landini Testacalda for its start up process.
